Discussion over Division
Hosted by the law school’s Liberty & Law Center, Discussion over Division fosters civil discourse and promotes civic virtue. Students are invited to chat about important policy topics and current events while learning about each other’s perspectives. Recent topics have included elections, free speech on college campuses, reproductive rights, and healthcare. Learn more.
The Scalia-Ginsburg Colloquy
The Colloquy features a discussion of both sides of current constitutional law topics by nationally known scholars. The inspiration for the Colloquy grew out of the enduring friendship between the late U.S. Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Their legendary camaraderie survived despite their sharp differences on the bench.
Drawing from their example, Scalia Law established the series with the generous support of the Scalia and Ginsburg families. It serves as a platform for renowned scholars to engage in substantive, yet civil, discussions covering various facets of significant legal issues. Topics have included the Supreme Court’s decisions on reproductive rights, presidential immunity, and affirmative action.
Free Speech Clinic
The Free Speech Clinic provides students with the opportunity to engage in pro bono legal representation of free speech claims under the First Amendment. The Clinic gives students the opportunity to engage in pro bono legal representation of free speech claims under the First Amendment. Clinic students work closely with experienced attorneys to identify cases of interest, research legal issues, and draft motions and briefs. Learn more.
