DC/MD/VA Public Service Recruitment Fair
Friday, January 31, 2025
The 2025 DC/MD/VA Public Service Recruitment Fair will be held virtually on Friday, January 31, 2025. Meet talented law students from six area law schools seeking public service careers through virtual interviews, virtual table talk, and resume collection. There is NO FEE for employers to participate and you may choose to participate in all of the fair’s recruitment activities or only those that work for your organization.
Hosted by: American University Washington College of Law; Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law; George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School; Howard University School of Law; University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law; and University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Information for Employers
Last year’s event brought nearly 100 employers and 300+ students together through virtual interviews, virtual table talk sessions, and resume collections to meet and discuss public interest and government opportunities in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore areas and beyond. This year we expect even more employers to meet and interview our students.
Hosted by six area law schools, the recruitment fair allows employers to meet hundreds of law students in one day. It offers law students an opportunity to learn about participating organizations and agencies, apply to available summer and post-graduate positions, and develop job search strategies and interviewing skills.
For employers able to participate live for the virtual event, you may participate in informal “table talk” and/or the more structured “scheduled interviews”. If you are unable to join us live, we can collect resumes on your behalf and send them to you for your consideration (the fair’s “resume collection” option).
In order for your organization to participate in the fair, simply register through our online registration system and submit the appropriate schedule request. If you have any questions, please contact the fair organizers at publicservicerecruitmentfair@gmail.com. Once you are registered, more detailed information will be provided.
We hope to see you at the event!
Sincerely,

Individual Interviews (Virtual)
Students (including 1Ls) will bid for interviews based on the information provided by each employer. Once bidding closes, we will provide employers with application packets for all students who placed a bid for an interview with their organization. Employers will then select the candidates they wish to interview and they will conduct interviews virtually the day of the fair. Employers can select full-day or half-day interview sessions.
Table Talk (Virtual)
Table Talk gives employers and students an opportunity to meet and talk informally in an online group setting (i.e. zoom, Webex, Teams, etc.) All student class years will be permitted to participate, and students will be able to bring resumes and provide them to employers. We encourage employers to share promotional materials or electronic brochures with students. Employers may participate in Table Talk in addition to conducting formal interviews.
Resume Collection
Organizations that are unable to attend the recruitment fair “live” may elect to have the schools collect and forward student resumes. If you are interested in Resume Collection only, please select this preference on the schedule request upon registering.
