Scalia Law Celebrates Graduation
On Friday, May 19, George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School awarded 161 Juris Doctor degrees, 119 Master of Laws degrees, and 17 Juris Master degrees at the annual graduation celebration held in the Concert Hall at the Center for the Arts on George Mason’s Fairfax Campus. Dean Ken Randall presided over the ceremony and presented diplomas with associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives Shaun Sutherell and Associate Dean for Administration and Student Affairs Annamaria Nields.
The student speakers were Marissa Farina-Morse (Juris Master), Angela Mackie-Rutledge (Master of Laws), Cori Ast (Juris Doctor, day), Caroline Lathi (Juris Doctor, evening), and Tom Dossey (Student Bar Association President). Professor Paolo Saguato offered an engaging address as the faculty speaker. Rachel Brand gave the keynote address. Brand is Walmart’s Executive Vice President of Global Governance, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary. Outside of Walmart, she serves on the board of directors for the International Justice Mission and is a member of the American Law Institute.
