SEC Commissioner Robert J. Jackson Jr. Calls For Reforms
The Law & Economics Center and the Healthy Markets Association co-hosted a special policy address by Commissioner Robert J. Jackson, Jr. of the Securities and Exchange Commission. In his remarks, “Unfair Exchange: The State of America's Stock Markets,” Commissioner Jackson announced major SEC policy changes to exchange regulation.
In his speech, Commissioner Jackson offered proposals that, he believes, would introduce greater transparency into exchange operations.
“I believe the Commission is finally ready to take off the kid gloves we’ve been using on our stock exchanges and start to ask hard questions about your country’s stock market structure,” Jackson concluded.
