Biographical Sketch

Erin E. Meyers is an Assistant Professor of Law at Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where she teaches Torts and Criminal Law. Her research focuses on deterrence in both the civil and criminal contexts, insurance, mental health, and criminal justice reform. Professor Meyers has published articles in Hastings Law Journal, The Cornell Law Review, The Journal of Legislation, and The Marquette Law Review.

Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Meyers worked as an Associate practicing Health Care Regulatory Law at Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C., and clerked for the Honorable A. Marvin Quattlebaum, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She worked as an actuarial consultant for Towers Watson before her career in law.

Professor Meyers earned a BBA, summa cum laude, in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 2013. In 2021, she earned her JD from Vanderbilt Law School and her PhD in law and economics from Vanderbilt University. During her time in law school, she served as the Editor in Chief for The Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. She also testified before the Employee Affairs Subcommittee of the Tennessee House of Representatives in support of legislation to expand sexual harassment employment protection to independent contractors.
